Thoughts on the AL East this year:
Orioles will be in the basement.
Tampa will finish around .500 in 4th place.
3rd Place - Yankees (89 wins)
They will win games on the might of their bats alone. Their pitching will be atrocius all year and a 3rd place finish will reflect that. I could see some of their big bats getting hurt as well.
2nd Place - Toronto Blue Jays (91 wins)
They have the most underrated batting lineup in the league. Hill, Lind, Bautista have the potential to be the most feared 2-3-4 / 3-4-5 hitters in the league. I am hoping Snider comes to form this year aswell. Their rotation is young and I am predicting they will be dynamite. Romero, Morrow, Drabek, Cecil, Litcsh should be their opening day rotation. I love the relief they picked up in the offseason as well, they have all the young pieces to be a winning club. Whether it be this year or two years from now, they will look like the Rays of the last two years, but will actually spend the money to retain their players. They will break free of mediocrity this year and just miss the wild card.
1st- Boston Red Sox
Up and down the board the Red Sox are the team to beat this year. They are spectacular in every aspect. The one thing that can hold them back is if Beckett and Lackey pitch like they did last year (they won't make the playoffs if they do). If they come to form, the Red Sox could win 100+ games this year.
