Now you are just spiting out opinions and garbage again. I never meant guns helped bring all those freedoms I listed, I meant people should be free to decide to own guns just as they should have the right to ride the bus up front(blacks) vote(women) get married(gays), etc

so the ethical value of owning a tool that is made solely for destruction and mayham is in your mind the same as a right to live in peace and harmony?

Steve

so you have never, in your life, used a handgun or automatic/assault type weapon

#1 automatic weapons are banned everywhere in the US. Derp
#2 the line between a rifle and a assault rifle is very blurred these days. There is no such thing as a legal assault rifle. The AR-15 used at that school was not a assault rifle.

LMAO. What the fuck are you talking about?

Tell that to all the responsible gun owners who own AR-15's. There are atleast a quarter million of these guns in the US atm, what three were used in shootings this year?

i don't think i need to explain to you that there is no such thing as an absolute freedom in a social setting, the argument here is that the right to have such destructive power at your fingertips is detrimental to social growth.

Give me examples Steve

That's all I want, real examples of meaningful instances where the right to c&c a handgun or ownership of assault weapons resulted in a positive change in any given community.

I want your rationale for gun ownership outside of "I want to and that's it."

You say it's to protect yourself (for instance), but you've never had to use a gun on the street to do so.

The constitution says that it's there to protect the citizens from the government, when's the last time the people rose up against the whitehouse packing AKs?

So why have guns?

If you want them just to have them that's not a good enough reason Steve.

As much as I am for sort of 'control', or just ultimately the reduction of nonsense violence, I believe this is your opinion. Guns are not just made for that. They're also made for sport, entertainment (target shooting, like archery for example).

Fact is: People kill people, guns don't kill people.

I admire the Americans for their constant fight for freedoms, because here in Canada - we gots none. Pakies gonna paki (<- WTF?!?!? LOLOL I typed p a k i), and we can't do fuck all.

Three hundred million people, chances are someone's always gonna derp.. doesn't mean the entire freedom(s) in question should be abolished.

Actually, it is.

This world ain't some utopian love land where everything is perfect and everyone acts in accordance with whats best for everyone else.

Whether I want to own a gun to feel safer at home, on the street, encase of government tyranny, zombie apocalypse, or to just sit in my closet and collect dust, that is my right.

And I certainly will not let soft hearted bitch liberals change that.

So now I can't even use those guns for target practice? wtf.

And you have obviously never fired a AK based on that first part I can tell. One word: FUN.

But ohh no Steve shot some watermelons with AK's/AR-15s better stop him quick before he shoots up downtown. HURRRRR

it is in America

i'm trying to dig deeper Steve, if your only justification is "because i want to" then i'm not going to argue with you anymore, because you're just too two-dimensional about the whole thing.

you seem to have zero personal attachment to the issue.

enjoy your shotgun, hope you never have to use it.

So, Fork, by your argument, "Do you need that 300HP Suburu to get groceries?" - No, then you can't have it. You must now go purchase a Prius. See what I'm sayin?

Wants and needs... by your argument, only needs must be allowed. There's much more to life than needs. Wants give humans the 'out of box' enjoyment and entertainment, and they should never be taken away from us.

what if one day you have a bad day

a really bad day

in a really bad way

all logic flies out the window and you decide to cause some carnage

it's so easy for you to grab that gun and go out blasting.

worst thing that someone like ME could do is drive through a bus-shelter, and chances are i won't kill more than 2-3.

i would be all for that, i really don't see a need for powerful cars in urban environments

but that's not the social environment we live in, but personally if they changed the laws i wouldn't object.

or what if I continue to be a responsible gun owner/user like I have since I was little, and not fuck people up at walmart? WHAT IF THEN MAN, WHAT IF.

For the record the reason I have chosen not to buy a pistol and get a C&C is because I feel I am to prone to retard-road rage.

Responsibility for ones own actions, what is that?

i may be very cynical about the whole thing but i think as post 90's society we've been given too many wants and seem to forget about the needs. So much luxury going around you don't know what to fucking do with it.

is it really that bad to be in a position where you just don't want that much stuff?
