Titanfall beta

there is a weapon called the smart pistol that all the noobs use...if you move fast and shoot fast you dont even get hit by them. It takes about 3-5 seconds to lock onto a pilot, its mainly for grunt hunting.

What I like? Everything about it is butter smooth, the movement, the running the climbing.

Shooting is easy like COD and guns are pretty much laser beams, but it doesn't really take away from it. The skill in this game lies in navigation and speed.

and its just plain fun, you dont even have a bad time when you are losing as there is always something to do/shoot.

Don't think of the grunts/spectres as just filler, think of them like creeps in Dota, they actually serve a tactical purpose int he games. Killing them helps lower your titan build time(2-4 seconds off for each kill), pilot kills take 30 seconds off your build time.

is it casual? you can view it like that, but there is alot of depth to the movement and combat strats.

is it fun? Fuck yeah its fun, nothing more satisfying than running across walls across the map, jumping on an enemy titan, unloading in its skull, jumping off, wall running behind a dude then snapping his neck.

everyone is quite eager to hate on this game, I say give it a try.

btw, that video...meh, its not worth the effort it takes to type.

So without the titan it's pretty much COD all over again but with wall jumping.

6 v 6 + ai that's so meh ... from the looks of the games, it doesn't really look that interesting to me tbh. I was going to try it during beta, but didn't bother with the 30gb+ download.

I played the beta, saw the release videos and was sorely disappointed. I am not trying to 'hate' on this game, but if anyone is considering purchasing this game, I recommend you think real long and hard on what you enjoy.

The beta was fun for about an hour before it got dull. Whether more maps + weapons makes it that much better is an opinion. The fact again that the environments are non-destructible or interactive is shit and shows the limitation and age of the portal 2 engine they built it upon.

Getting stuck on a street sign/burnt out car is just plain stupid considering how Titans are meant to feel like large mechs n shit.

The wall-running + jumping is fluid, but hardly is groundbreaking let alone a feature that will keep you playing endless hours like other games out there

Also just noticed that EA has already released a Season Pass for this game which is uber shit

Unfortunately I have bad luck buying games that aren't shit

AVP (curse you in one thousand names, 44)
Rust (curse you in one thousand names, 47)
Riptide (curse you in one thousand names, 44)

So I might skip this for a bit, I'm still putting mad hours into KSP (currently over 600. hours, ladies)

And upon further review, I HATE people who the numeral "4" in their name.

lmao AVP :awyeah:
Rust is awesome, but kind of shitty playing alone plus it's still alpha. :somuchwin:
riptide pretty much same as the first one so :pffftch:

I honestly starting liking it at the end, it had the same feel as AVP Gold edition.

Shitty as graphics and animation though, but I am an ALIENS FREAK, so I pretty much buy all the shit thats out there.

I hear the original cast is coming to calgary in some sort of comicon, so I'm going to ask a question I've been wrestling with since the beginning.

Post-cryo scene, bishop knife tricks hudson, cutting himself in the process

Later scene progresses to where ripley finds out Bishop is really an "artificial person" (lul)

Bishops response is, word for word
"That could never happen now with our behavioral inhibitors. It is impossible for me to harm or by omission of action, allow to be harmed, a human being"

So, he made a mistake in the knife trick that _could_ have resulted the injuring of hudson (an action), so was he lying when he spoke this sentence?

Was bishop lying to ripley? You never quite trust the character, he seems aloof and on his own mission.
