one of the sickest metal bands to come out of quebec in the 90's, that no one really knows about (most of the attention at the time was given to a defining band called One Eyed God Prophecy).

their entire discography is pretty diverse as far as metal and hardcore, with some serious sludge elements and totally worth the hour and a half it takes to listen. the guy in the post says that one person has described it as emo, but that's only because of the political nature of dude's lyrics. (emo was not the garbage that it is today, back in the 90s, it was politically charged hardcore punk, but more on that another time)

i probably posted this already like last year, but Oakville, Ontario's Mare is without question the sickest down-tempo metal/sludge bands to come out of southern ontario, and they only released 5 songs total. Diverse as shit, with ambient passages that let you see into the singer's creative pulse, and a heavy ass sound as a 3 piece make these guys fucking awesome. The singer/guitarist is also the lead singer of mathcore band The End.

Yah think it comes with the ambient part of their genre :P just creating atmosphere as far as I can assume.

They are my favourite black metal band , they bought this old dilapidated farm house in the middle of no where lived there for a year and based that album off of it : P great shows too there venue got cancelled and they decided to just set up there show in a field ahah it was epic : P
