The Current State of Competitive Matchmaking

Did they change something again? I thought you could queue with anyone as long as you had a full 5 person group.

No I believe rank differential still applies to full queue. Remember that time I had to change to my unranked account so I could play with your buddy? We ended up facing badges lul~~~~

At least I believe it was full queue.....

As for smurfing, I've never done it, but I imagine that I would feel quite empty inside doing it.

I opened a smurf account a really long time ago to play with work colleagues. Reason behind it was that I wanted to preserve my main rank (pretty stupid thinking). Anyhow, realized how retarded that was, and now I have a spare copy of CSGO that I lend to my bro-in-law.

oh, I didn't know you could pin apps to individual cores in Windows ...sounds promising
No, there's a setting in the options menu of the client. 0, 1, 2, 3 are the cores that I can select from in there. I set it to use 3 (my fourth core). Go to Tools, Performance, and then select the preferred CPU core for the client to use.

anyone know what is responsible for how the system chooses which server to throw you on when doing match making

does it ping your ISP and try to put you close to similar people or?

I think this is the console command to select your max ping.

mm_dedicated_search_maxping “<insert max ping>″

Or something like that.

So I would assume your maxping/teams maxping has something to do with all this madness. However how valve picks which server you end up on is a complete mystery.
