Recommend a Good Headset?

HappySticks™

TD Admin
I am really looking to buy a good quality headset because I am tired of using the inline mic on my headphones!
I have found a few good ones (my opinion) including:

http://www.amazon.com/Aviation-Batt...e=UTF8&qid=1377992101&sr=1-5&keywords=headset

http://www.amazon.com/Lightspeed-ZU...=UTF8&qid=1377992101&sr=1-22&keywords=headset

http://www.amazon.com/TURTLE-SYSTEM...77992251&sr=1-1&keywords=turtle+beach+headset

Give me some feedback about some of my choices and let me know what you have and what you would recommend to me.

Note: I've got some money to blow

What's your sound card? It should be at least as good as your headset.
If you have a crap sound card and you're looking at these $200 to $1,000 headsets, you'll never get your money's worth.

Really no point of a expensive headset if ur just playing TF2/ casually
I just have some cheap mic and it works fine

I am pretty sure that my sound card sucks, because I have an Hp TouchSmart computer (which if you don't know it's not the best (; )

+1 on the SteelSeries Siberia v2. My version is has a USB sound card it attaches to. They're sturdy headsets for the price. Can't complain about mine.

I'm tempted to upgrade from my Turtlebeach x12s.
I got them because they were cheapish and my friend uses them too, said they were pretty good.

They're a good headset, but for long use they start to hurt your ears :(

I have heard A LOT about Turtlebeach headsets! Are they really as good as people say they are? Seems like when people talk about headsets on the servers, everyone brags about their Turtlebeaches or they say that they want a pair.

EDIT
DERP Replied to wrong thread...lmao

About Turtlebeaches, I only have a cheap version of their headsets.
And one that is meant for Xbox at that.
I've never tried any of their PC or more expensive headsets to tell you.

I think a large part of what people get out of turtle beaches is due to hype. I've owned a few, and I've gotten rid of all but one pair (which I just use to watch movies on my xbox at night). As far as what I'd buy now, I agree with Ron Swanson that the Siberia line of headsets is good, Corsair also makes some very good headsets (stay away from the wrap-around ones, though, they tend to snap. Really though, for my own personal use I've got a nice pair of pioneer headphones and a cheapo mic that I can wear around my neck and position in front of my mouth. You'll get a lot more bang for your buck by going that route, and it's easier (not to mention cheaper) to replace either piece if something breaks.
