I just Dr beats solo HD's, and a stand mic, works good enough

I use a pair of Beats Studio with the mic but I hate lifting it up to my mouth when I need to talk...

SteelSeries Siberia v2 has been mentioned several times in this thread already but its worth another mention. I have this headset and it had the best value at the time I was searching for a new headset. I have the headset now and it is awesome.

I'm also going to bandwagon and +1 the Siberia V2, with or without a good sound card. Best bang for the buck by far out there.

Or if you feel like going balls to the walls, the Astro A40 gets good reviews. You're going to have to fork up at least $150 just for the headset, and they're kinda scrappy without the mixer, which can be bundled with the headset for a whopper $250... why am I even suggesting it.

HDMI deals with a very low-voltage, digital signal = Either you get the data or you don't. 2.5" Stereo jacks with varying-voltage, analog signal = you can have all sorts of interference and static.

I'm probably going to invest in some of those whenever I'm looking into a new headset.
Mine is fine, still works, just gets a little uncomfortable around the ears after a few hours of use.
