But it should be easy to trace the transaction history.
History is meaningless, but I hear no one knows how Steam Support operates as of late. Hell, I ended up with a two week ban earlier this year for nothing, they refuse to tell me why.
I think it's a matter of keeping items in locked inventories and boosting prices for more dough for Valve than it is easiness.
Given what they did to the Howl and the scandal with the Failsman case, I would imagine this is the latest of their ways to keep the money machine going.
I know Valve will return your item if you try to sell your knife on the Steam client for $100, but somehow turns into $1, but what obligation do they have if you try to sell it outside their services?
There is an inherent risk selling digital goods and experienced self-sellers and buyers know that a successful transactions requires one of the two to put trust in the other first. Since
@HappySticks™ decided to trade first, he is putting his trust to the buyer that they will pay after they receive the item.
First part's incorrect, someone sold a Bayonet for $36.00 and it turns out they meant $360.00. Steam Support didn't reverse the transaction even though the same knife popped back upon the market for the same usual price of $360.
You're right but even then, there's ALWAYS a risk. Even if you use a middleman.

Its a fucked up world out there.
I have already contacted Valve about this issue hence the issued trade ban on his account. Most likely it is only be temporary though and he will most likely make a new account to transfer the items into. Perhaps to scam again as he already has a banned by SteamRep alternate account.
As I expected they are unable to return the item to me for specific reasons.
- Before accepting the trade, it is the user's responsibility to verify that the contents of the trade are accurate and that the trade partner is the correct user.
- Steam Support discourages the following types of trades, as they cannot be guaranteed by the Steam trading interface:
~ Trades involving money/PayPal outside of the Steam Community Market
~ Trades involving CD keys or Wallet codes
~ Trading items and expecting them to be returned to you through a verbal agreement
~ Trading items/gifts for nothing in return in the first trade and expecting to get an item or gift in a later trade
I provided plenty of evidence to support my claim but for all they know I could have edited the screenshots to make it look like I was the victim. Thats why they discourage trading outside the trade window. They cant see what happens.
Losing the knife is not a big deal to me, it happens and a lesson has been learned. The issue I am facing now is paying back the 29 keys I owe to friends in order for me to have obtained my first knife. I will have to figure out how to get the keys.
Typical generic automated replies. Steam Support can suck my cock.
They Trade Banned the fucker but didn't return your knife. Good. Fucking. Job.
Really, well done, the faith in Steam is so much, that it hurts. This is why they need to start recording our chats in the trade window, and encourage users to do it. It would have been easy as day to see the scumbag run from the seller.
@jakksilves why did you link me to this again?
