Bitcoin donations

I expect to get 2 more within a month, problem is that I hear they are so backlogged that people ordering now won't see one until 2014.
Thats what I heard when I was first considering buying one a few months ago, thats why I decided not to...

I don't get this bit coin mining... So your computer helps transfer people's money for pennies instead of using banks?

I bought 2500 litecoins back when they cost a few pennies each. Sold them when they peaked at $5 per ltc
I heard some guy spent 10000 bitcoins when this thing first existed, and he bought a slice of pizza... Thats some $1mil worth slice of pizza.

Cool, I saw that miner although it costs more nowadays. I'm curious what kind of wizard shit is going on there, I assume custom FPGA since it's so small and light on power. Nice buy. I think I'll give Litecoin mining a shot since it hasn't caught on enough yet to have custom miners so my poor ol GPU might still be relevant
Litecoin mining is bigger than you think right now. When I start making a profit off of these 2 new miners, I plan on spending a portion of it just for building a litecoin mining rig. Litecoin is actually more feasible than Bitcoin because transactions are much quicker. I really think in the end that Litecoin has a better chance of beating out Bitcoin. Litecoin mining is getting big and when Mt. Gox integrates litecoin into their website you can expect to see the price jump in value (and drop). I'd say get on that as quick as you can before more people do and the difficulty jumps, people are trying to make businesses now that sell Litecoin mining rigs so keep an eye out for that.

It's not a custom FPGA I don't believe, it's an ASIC which from what I understand is considerably different than an FPGA.

Does the drop in silver prices this year feel good too? I remember you screaming buy silver @ $30USD+...lost about 1/3 it's value since then.

Yeah it does feel good. I've been loading up for a couple months now. I buy physical... premiums haven't dropped as much.

I was telling people to buy gold and silver before the crash in 2008. I told them to buy google too when it had its IPO. No one listened, I'm in for myself now :(

I bet someone listened when you told them to buy Facebook stock :D
I wasn't telling anyone to buy that, the people I told I suggested it as a possibility. Unfortunately that was just a huge scam, between all the price fixing and info going on under the table. There was supposed to be a huge investigation, I think certain people may have helped it crash because they wanted to scare away the small investors from the stock market. Who knows, but I only invested a little bit into it myself, and I recommended other people to do the same. When I told people about Facebook I said it could be big, but with Google I was telling people it will be big. I really thought Facebook was going to do what Google did, by buying up different companies in different fields of technology, making huge breakthroughs, which they kind of did. But everything they invested in wasn't innovative, and mostly failed little by little. They thought they could just absorb better business, where Google thought they could build better business. Google went around hiring the best cutting edge innovators in breaking fields of technology and science, gave them money, and said build something amazing. I think Zuckerberg might have too much control over things, so he's a little close-minded. It's a shame, I thought he was going to follow Google's model. Those 2 guys were worth 6 billion dollars a piece overnight. Zuckerberg was just interested in being rich and sold off half his stock immediately, that shows how much confidence he has in himself.

I meant to say, I have a bunch of litcoins too, you might have sold a bit early. When and if they begin Litecoin trading on Mt. Gox I expect the value to jump to at least $10. That's what I'm waiting on. Those hackers sidetracked the start of Litecoin trading on Mt. Gox, but supposedly they're still going to implement it, last I heard was July but who knows for sure.

I use btc-e.com for litecoin and cavirtex.com for btc. btc-e is a bitch to get funds in to so I use cavirtex to deposit funds... although their fees are high if you trade low volume.

I use some widgets on my android phone to track both Bitcoin and Litecoin, Bitcoinium is a great widget, I paid for Bitcoinium Prime but they have a free version which when I used it worked just as well. As far as buying Bitcoin, in North America I think you can use both Coinbase.com or you can open an account with Mt. Gox. I have both and have used both, they charge pretty much the same and can wire your money to your bank account in pretty much the same amount of time (Mt. Gox has just halted withdrawals because they said they don't have the staff to keep up with the demand and are currently trying to figure out a solution). Litecoin is a little bit harder to get. Your best bet for some Litecoin is to open an account with BTC-e.com Buy some Bitcoin, transfer it to that account and buy Litecoin with Bitcoin. I wouldn't keep Litecoin in your account at BTC-e, they have been hacked in the past (when it was news I checked and people claimed all funds were stolen which isn't true because I didn't lose one Litecoin). What you may want to learn to do, is to download a Litecoin wallet and Bitcoin wallet directly to a usb thumb drive. There are tutorials out there to do this and keep everything safe, that way if someone hacks your computer, your wallet can't be stolen directly off your hard drive, and make sure you make more than one usb thumb drive, a copy of the first. If you're interested in sticking some money in multiple "e-currencies/crypto-currencies" then you might want to check out vircurex.com There is a lot of research and reading that you're going to need to do so, if you have any questions I'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities and help you out as much as I can.
