Wind data stick

Anyone got one of these? I'm just curious to know how much the unit itself costs since I want to pick one up for use on the pay-as-you-go deal.

Sorry bud, only have the wind phone, no issue with their service, its not the fastest and yes there are areas with 0 reception but you get what you pay for and I think I get my moneys worth.

I tether my phone/turn it into wifi hotspot, my speed is anywhere from 0.05mbps to 2mbps download, 0.5mbps upload, ping ~150ms, Mobilicity.

so if i understand correctly, tethering turns your cell into an adhoc AP that any wifi chip can connect to? problem is i don't have a smartphone because all plans are ripoffs so i figure the wind stick is a cheaper way to still get mobile data for my tablet :\

Yes, it turns it into an AP. You can use it with anything but Apple, cause Apple's fucking gay and you can only tether with Apple. But other than that, you're good to go. Depending on the phone (I have a Blackberry Bold 9900), you can also set security (from WEP to WPA2, using AES or TKIP). Works really well.

Ahh I see, that makes sense. I'm lucky to have the plan I have, so I take advantage.
