Why Some People Are Hateful in Forums

omission

In almost every forum lurks at least one difficult person.
Occasionally a new person will come along who leaves hateful comments, but why?. I think they enjoy the chaos and reactions they generate or just naturally mean-spirited. What do you think it could be?

Some people just take delight out of causing discourse - I believe it's that simple. I like some absurdism as much as the next guy, but I believe there's a fine line between, I don't know, goofing around and just being a jerk, and for whatever reason, the anonymity of the Internet tends to drag people over to the jerk side.

The internet brings a level of anonymity. In doing so people don't have to feel the consequences a lot of the time.

Bitter and angry people who have been hurt one way or another in their lives who never really got over certain issues brings out that anger in every part of their lives. Due to the "no-boundaries" build of the internet, they are free to be as bitter and nasty as they need to be.

For some it's just cause, or to be destructive. For others, it's an emotional release, and probably a cry for help.
