Startled to find out, after buying the CS complete pack, that there was no tutorial. Tried offline play but still have no idea how the game is played...Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You can make an offline mode with bots, which should help you get comfortable enough with the controls and general gameplay until you step into online play, at which point you'll have to learn the tactics (and how to use sound if you're a try-hard like me).
Discodude, hardest thing is getting to "feel" your mouse, and getting accurate quickly, i.e. turning a corner and aiming at a guy quickly to fire = more time setting up your crosshair on a guy, more often you'll die.
Also, youtube counter-strike source tutorials, you'll find a ton of guys giving all sorts of information, tips and tricks.
If there's anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to ask!
You have to play, check out youtube vids, spec other people when you die and see what most people use. For example: you're going to see a lot of desert eagles (or just "deagles", for short), a lot of mp5's (submachine gun, or smg) and a lot of M4's (rifle) on CT side/AK47's (rifle) on T side. There's recoil to all the guns in CS so you can't really just hold the mouse button down while running/jumping/doing 360's and expect them all to land on target.
Playing against bots are ok for starters I suppose, but the best tutorial is dying and learning from it, so play often!
Play with easier bots? Stick to one gun for now (M4, P90, MP5) for now until you get the hang of it. Don't play it like you would play MW or BF as the recoil is much higher in this game.
