I actually played foldit for a while, it was open to anyone because as you played the game and made progress you actually solved different protein problems, it was really, really hard and I maybe played it for 5-6 hours but never solved anything. Great idea though, games that solve scientific problems.
Apparently, the protein string they fixed had been in the hands of geneticists for 10 years with no luck. The reason why they DID solve it is apparently, Foldit is now co-op multiplayer, so a bunch of die hards would get together and work together to figure it all out.
Personally, of the 8 intelligences, Spatial Manipulation is probably my poorest, so I was never all that into games that thrives on it. (Statistically speaking, women tend to thrive in this area of intellect relative to men, which is probably why my mom always whooped my ass at Tetris when I was a kid, and can probably still whoop my ass at it now.)
I tried Luminosity.com and I love it. Apparently, my attention span and my memory are my strongest traits, which is probably why I spam up "walls of text". Oh, imagine that. A guy who excels in English, creative writing and journalism can write at length with ease. Next thing you know, I'll wake up tomorrow and the sky will be blue.
