I would say not too, as I would not want to see and/or know about a video of my birth, but that's just my personal view.

I'd Film after the birth once her and the baby have calmed down. Plus you can "help" out more if you are not filming.

lol i videotaped the second one, and the nurse got kind of pissed and told me to turn it off, but looking back i regret not filmin the whole thing, and i think wifey agrees, its hard to remember still because of how long labour was (around 24 hours from water breaking to delivery) and then like a week of being really sleep fucked.


if anything, make sure to take lots and lots of pictures, the baby only looks really newborn for a couple days, as the head adapts to the outside world (babys heads are crazzzyyy soft).

I filmed my second, well to the extent my wife let me, I was around my wifes head and pointed the camera to her stomach. So, you don't actually see the actual birth, but right after when she was put on my wifes stomach.

Use some descretion, ask your wife what she thinks is reasonable and do it, even if its the entire birth. Only happens once so go for it.

Anyway yeah, it's a good experience, get right in there and don't be shy, don't let the doctors and nurses dictate what you do in there, it's your birth. I had a good look right up in there, and have some amazing photos of afterbirth hanging from the wifes vag, our baby didn't breathe properly right away so we had some tense moments after he came out. I fucking near passed out towards the end I had to sit down when the nurse saw I was looking a little white.
