Steam being Steam

So apparently sometime last night Steam said, "Hey let's uninstall Team Fortress 2 and Borderlands the Prequel. It will be a nice surprise when Spencer wakes up in the morning." Gee Steam that was a surprise. I don't how the hell it happened but I am wondering if there is a fix to it. I looked in my program files and I saw that my Borderlands data was still there but not TF2. Anyone had something similar to this happen to them?

Happens occasionally to me, not had it happen since my last account though. I actually did have a conversation with steam support over it but they never gave me more than cookie cutter answers.

It took 5 hours to re download so they were all good to go when I came home from work. I still am confused on how that would happened in the first place. Games just don't magically uninstall over night.
