resolution

ok im getting a video error wherer if i try and launch a game that is not the same resolution as monitor 1 all it dose id changes the resolution constently from the origonal resolution too the game res.

not sure what it is ive never updated my video drivers untill today and that didnt fix it... looking for any ideas thanks in advance

I had an issue similar to this, but with css when I used to launch the DX8 command to force css to play in dx8. When I would leave css, Windows desktop would default to the game res (which wasn't as high as the monitor). Am I correct in assuming this is the same issue?

I solved mine by:
A ) Removing the DX8 command; and
B ) uninstalling DirectX and re-installing DirectX.

thanks BJ that didnt work but i solved the problem by watching a completely unrelated video abot starcraft where the guy talked about trancparency in win7 causeing his game to crash and tryed turning trancparency off and havent had a problem yet :)
