Future Ban List Occupant
Made a little list of my pc spec's in hopes that maybe someone could help me determine where a good place to start upgrading would be I really don't keep up with hardware anymore
I was leaning toward's the getting a quad core ..http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103996

but not sure , and obviously I've considered a creative XFI card.

try to summarize the specs a bit lol.

example:

cpu i7 930
12gb ram
evga x58 le mobo
5850 gpu

those r really the only parts that determine speed

Only a GTS 250? I would change that to a 570 or 560

Audio card is important but only if you have good enough headphones. Honestly anything is better then built in, even a cheap $50 PCI-e audio card is better.

That quad core you posted is nice but a GFX card IMO is the tits.

Since this is a computer help thread.

I still just use the on board sound card.
Do you think I should get a separate card then? Even if it is cheap...

I mean honestly...I don't think I would notice a difference, but I haven't been doing computer gaming for that long, and I only just built my first rig at the start of the year. So I'm still very much a noob at all this.

Looks good. I would have had to slap ya if you were to trade your six-core Thuban in for a quad-core BD. Your CPU multi is unlocked so if your box feels slow-moving you should get a good CPU cooler instead of a mouse (as per the other thread) and bump it up a notch. You can also bump CPU-NB and tweak the RAM a bit without needing any extra cooling and that will net you noticeable gains.
