$70 isnt bad I paid $50 + rape-shipping for mine

I always said you were a foo for not getting a heat sink right away for that i7. Those i7 stock heat sinks are total garbage.

intells heatsinks are garbage in general, my last cpus heatsink actuly started to rust. amds are a little more usable but still need to be replaced especily for 4+ core systems

I agree with Clash, he's right about all stock heatsinks being absolute garbage. AMD's garbage as well. lol

47, even if TigerDirect doesn't have it, you can ask them to order one in to their store so you can pick it up and pay there. This is totally normal, so you do not have to order online.

Get a Noctua's NH-D14, Noctua has the highest quality fans in the industry, they move a lot of air and are quiet as fuck in comparison.
Chilean overclocking squad from UnknownTeam.cl in pushing their CPUs over the 5GHz barrier using Noctua's flagship model. Tom Logan from Overclock3D.net got his Intel
Core i7 970 to 5012Mhz and Miha Šabic from TesT-InG.com made it to a
breathtaking 5502MHz on his Core i5 680.

benchmarks for a bunch of other coolers, good ones for $40 bucks in the hardware canucks cooler chart

Also to note that the many members of Pure OC live in the Toronto area, I have been a regular on their forum for about 3 years now. good bunch of people and they have hardware give aways that very few people participate in. I won a Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme last December :), and a memory cooler the year before that :D

If you want info on the products Drugz listed, just ask SonDooby. He uses the first water cooler (Corsair). It's very quiet and keeps his i7-920 below 55C @ 3.71Ghz.

yeah,,, ive looked at all of those. i decided not to get the beastly noctua 14. its gonna cover my ram slots, or possibly block some of them perm. those hybrid close loop water coolers dont make sense to me, what pumps the water ?? derp

im gonna look for thermalright ultra 120 extreme rev. C , its the improved one.

edit: i think i know now y i cant find the 120, its been replaced with the venomous x, which is a tiny bit cooler. so should i got for the venomous x ???

only place i found:

http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=53131&vpn=Venomous X- RT&manufacture=Thermalright

avail for p/u in Markham

win ???

venomous x cooler looks good, really any of the coolers listed here are good enough to cool an I7@stock, even an overclock to 3.6ghz can be handled by all of the above.

as for the close loop water coolers the pump is part of the Rad I think. ( performance wise they are about the same as a high end air cooler)

i dont think they have a pump at all.

yes they have a pump or else they wouldn't work. no they aren't any better than the Ultra 120 or whatever its called now, but they take up less room on your board. 6 to one half dozen to the other.
