My rig is already good, I could buy a desert eagle branded deagle too. Just need a camera to take high grade pictures that look great on facebook.

lol Not sure if troll, but Mikey you don't need a high-grade DSLR for that type of shit. If they're just going on facebook, and the occasional print-out for you to frame, you'll do just fine with a regular 'point-and-shoot' digital camera.

The good, or 'better', point-and-shoot digital cameras can go anywhere from $150-400, for the very best. I've got a Sony Cybershot, bought it for about $180 on sale: does 720P video recording, as well as takes 10.1Megapixel photos - great for any task but professional photography. Does the job, and didn't break my bank.

Good luck hommie.

Also, I think Narf and Shotgun are the men to call, IFF you're looking for high-grade shit. Those guys really know their shit. Oh, and 35mm!

Since we're here talking about cameras
My dad wants to buy my Uncle a nice camera for Christmas.

He doesn't want a digital one, he wants one of those black ones with the lenses.
Now I know very little about cameras and the like...so what's probably the best one of those types of cameras for the money?
We're planning on splitting it as a joint present between my dad, mum and me, so it can afford to be in the hundreds. Possibly.

^ this. For $500 you can get two small digi cams that fit in your pocket and if one breaks there's a backup. If you want to blow 4G on a great camera get a Nikon. I don't know if this is still true in the digital age but when everything was 35mm most Nat'l Geo photographers would have Nikons with them just to bust that shit out in the swamps and sahara where lesser cameras would bite the dust. You could beat someone to death with a Nikon camera then stick around to take the CSI photos

Decent camera = Nikon D90
It's a couple years old but it's easy to work and it takes very high quality photos.

This site replaced one of my bookmarked resources, so I haven't had time to digest it yet.
That said, done the right side, you can pick the category that you're looking at if the current reviews in the middle frame don't hit the spot.

Seems fairly balanced and non-brand specific.
