Lucid Dreaming

I have recently become very intrigued with the possibility of lucid dreaming. So I decided to turn to Darkly! :D Do you think people can actually lucid dream? And have you ever become lucid in a dream? Or if you'd like to learn about it, I can point you to a website that showed me what I know.

That's very typical because, I'm guessing, you sleep a good 8-9 hours a night? And the reason it happens in the morning is because every time a person sleeps, they go through sleep cycles. Each cycle lasts, more or less, 90 minutes, and at the end of each cycle, they have a dream. The first few cycles, the end of the cycle, (The dream time) is very short. They get a little longer as you progress through your sleep. The reason you go lucid in the morning is because the dream time is the longest then. So it allows your brain to focus on the dream. Like, you know when you don't go lucid and you remember the dreams later and they're blurry and stuff? That's your last, or second to last dream cycle. Those dreams are much longer and much more vivid, so that's why they pop out more than the others, and that's why your brain remembers them. But on the subject of lucid, did you train yourself to do that, or did it just come natural to you?

I use meditation to induce lucid dreaming all the time. I found It's good practice for brain focus and stress relief.

I tried to hypnotize myself with a relaxing video off of Youtube one time. Here's what happened... It's late and dark. I turn off the tv and lay back with my headphones in and my video ready. Sounds of the beach pour through my ears and after a few minutes of following their instructions, I get fully relaxed. As I start to slip into my subconcious, they video makes a really loud sound and it scares the shit out of me. D: I haven't tried since. I hate Youtube...

try binaural beats, it's usually a low humm. They have claims about the different tones which I'm sure are total bogus, but, they can help your mind concentrate.

I've Never used any external help to meditate, just takes time to learn how.
I find People usually get fed up and don't bother as it can take 6+ months to achieve that silent sleeping but not sleeping state.
despite what people might think it Really does de-stress.

Yeah, I have no doubt that it destresses, and I understand the concept. Let your body fall asleep, while keeping your mind awake. I just wish it was as easy as it sounds. But it turns out that this very hard sounding thing, is much harder than it sounds. :P

When I was younger, I remember being able to have lucid dreams on demand, all the time. As I got older, for whatever reason I could no longer do that. I do have them spontaneously on the rare occasion, but I have not mastered how to have them all the time. There are several techniques you can use to make yourself realize that you are dreaming. Here are ta few I have come across while reading on lucid dreams over the years.

1) Is always question shit that is out of the ordinary, or impossible. So when you see those in your dreams, always ask yourself if it's a dream.

2) The watch trick. This you have to start implementing in your daily life so it becomes second nature. In your dreams your subconscious will make you use your habits in your dreams. So what you do, whenever you check the time by looking at your watch or a clock, always look back at it a second time and make sure that's really the time. If you are awake, the time will be the same. If you are dreaming the time will not be the same. For example, if you look at your watch in your dream and it's 3:15pm when you look again it may be 5:00pm.

3) Daily Affirmations.

There are many sites you can find that will provide you with a lot of info on lucid dreams. I may have some pdf books on it if you want. Binaural beats help calm the mind or put you in the right state of mind to induce a lucid dream. But it's just an aide, it doesn't actually cause the lucid dream to take place.

Being on this topic, what do you know about astral voyage/projection?
