Lucid Dreaming

What is lucid dreaming?

Lucid dreaming is when you are aware of dreaming.
If you are aware of dreaming, it is possible for you to actually control your dreams!
You can do whatever you want. You can create buildings, you can create your own adventure, you can create your own powers, etc.
The best part about this is that it actually feels pretty real!

How to

It is not easy to explain, so I recommend some videos and sites to look at:

TIPS: 1. Wake up a few hours early/4 hours after you go to sleep and stay awake for about 5 minutes. I have the greatest success rate with this method. I usually wake up, go to the washroom, then go back to sleep.
2. If you feel as though you are about to wake up, spin in circles. 98% of the time this keeps your lucid dream going.
3. Keep a sleep journal. Record your dreams every morning as soon as you wake up. I know this seems kinda stupid (especially to the guys), but it works. Eventually you will start to remember your dream automatically.
4. When you are going to sleep, say to yourself "I will have a lucid dream". I did not have much success with this method, but you might.

What to do in your dream
Here are some ideas you can try in your lucid dream:

- Create a big city and fly over it.
- Create surreal buildings and structures.
- Jump into the universe.
- Summon your most hated person and kamehameha him the fuck out of this world.
- Create your own adventure.
- I know you want to do dirty stuff, you perv. But you will probably wake up, when you are going to try it #ScumbagBrain
- Be god of your own universe.
- Be a shinigami and go through your city hunting hollows and shit!
- Sit on a pc and play TF2, yolo! (actually don't do that...)
- Imagine friends

We've taught our kids lucid dreaming to change nightmares into good dreams. It's as simple as not accepting the dream's power over you.
Inception anyone?

I had a waking dream a couple years back, and the experience was, in a word, breath-taking.

I've been chasing this dragon for a long time with mixed results. Using a variety of techniques, ranging from beta wave stimulation, asceticistism, and meditation.

I've actually had a couple scary experiences as well. I'm also on the prowl for some DMT, to... speed up the process.

Not a believer in astral projection, but the affect on the mind is, stunning.

Last night I was trying to Perform a WILD or a Wake Induced Lucid Dream and when I got into sleep paralysis I saw a pair of big yellow eyes on a black face with a big head coming at me and then I got out of sleep paralysis because it scared me so bad

this is wild, I had a very similar experience.

I've tried wild before, can't remember what technique I was trying this time, but I was "in-between", as best as I can describe it. I think there is a state between wakefulness and asleep, and we cross this boundary for a fraction of a second.

Anyways, so at the exact moment I'm at that state, my wife walks into the bedroom. It jolted me, and I could "see" eyes (hard to describe, more like an overlay). I was freaking on my wife to grab the shotgun. I kept yelling, get the shotgun, get the shotgun. I couldn't move and it took a good 10 minutes for my wife to settle me down.

I'm still a novice at this stuff, so my ability to describe is lacking, but the creativity is there. Oh, and I don't own a shotgun.

When I was younger I used to get sleep paralysis all the time; but it was due to stress I think, or my sleeping position. Would always happen if I slept upright in the car, or facing down in bed. Now I don't sleep in the car and sleep facing up, so it's all good. I think before I kept suffocating myself because I can't get air while breathing through a pillow.
ASMR helps too.
