Lost my dog :(

So my wife lets my dog out this aft, he fucks off, I drove around for 6 hours looking for him with no sign. I'm heartbroken it's 10 pm here I have no idea if he's dead, dognapped or wandering around somewhere and is going to get run over. I had him for 6 years and have maybe been apart from him for 14 days in that time. Just fucked.

I know how it feels Prop. I have dogs of my own, they're not just pets, they're furry children.

I had my cat sneak away one me once and I wandered around the neighborhood looking for him and stayed up all night. He returned in the morning with one of those "whoa, what happened to you? didn't you sleep?" looks

I guess what I'm trying to say is: give it until the morning. He's probably just excited being all out and about with no adult supervision. He's probably visiting some of his bitches right now :) He'll come back the next day.

It's a terrible feeling loosing your dog, I know how you feel right now Prop. I sure hope a nice neighbour will return him, like the lady blocks away did for us.

I read that if you take a well worn piece of clothing and rub it on stuff around the neighborhood (street signs, lamp posts, mail boxes etc.) they will pick up the scent and follow it home. Never tried it myself, always managed to find the little rascal before he got too far. But at 6 hrs plus, it's worth a try.

I've had this happen to me when I was younger. I got on my bike and rode around the city all night searching for him, and asking anyone I saw on the way if they have seen my dog. Eventually, the sun came up and I was dead tired so I gave up and went home. When I woke up I was SO thrilled to find that my dog was back. Hopefully you'll have the same luck.

Not to give you false hope but dogs have an amazing ability to turn up after days of being on a walkabout. Not sure of the breed but if it has a rep of being a good scent dog then I would say there is every chance. Don't forget to check the local pound as well in case it was picked up .... and spent the night in the local dog hotel...keeping my fingers crossed.

Dude, I know how the heartbreak feels, I had a hand picked blue brendal pitt. she was my lil kid at the time, and went everywhere i went. i had went to jail and when i got out someone had stole her and skipped town. didn't have a picture or anything. man i cried the blues over that dog, still haven' got a new one. i did however get dog tracks tattooed up my arm in her memory. sorry bout the loss bro.
