Lasik eye surgery

Seriously if any of you guys are considering getting this done, DO IT! I just had my surgery this morning! -.25 to 20/20!

The surgery took about 15minutes in total. 10 minutes for laser prep and about two minutes of surgery per eye.

i desperately want to! once i'm done school.

how does that pricing work? how much? and does it go up depending on how bad your eyes or what?

too scared, they make a mistake blind for life/no refunds.

aside from that risk any other cons to this procedure? i would love not needing to wear glasses.

Congrats Stevie!

I've had mixed reviews in my circle of family friends. I believe my bro's fiance went through a lot of trouble/pain/sight problems in one eye. My aunt had issues as well, and still doesn't see how she should 2-3 years after it's been done. Then again I hear people doing great, so I dunno... with my .25 vision correction, I don't care. I only need glasses in lecture halls or drive in movies.

I like wearing glasses... it can be a hassle sometimes, but I've been wearing glasses since I was 12 so you grow used to them!

Glad to hear it went smooth for you dude!

I paid $2400 for both eyes, and lifetime corrections.

I believe the pricing does depend on your vision/eye's health, but generally lasik is about $1000+ a eye.

Almost every Lasik clinic include corrective treatments if your first surgery doesn't get you to 20/20.

also, while very nervous before the surgery I did some searching online... I couldn't find any cases of people going blind from Lasik.

That fear of blindness is unwarranted the science behind this surgery is quite remarkable.

Although I will admit it was quite a terrifying 4 minutes of surgery, lol. The amount of pressure they put on your eye in order to do the surgery is crazy... and the total darkness you experience suddenly as the doctor makes the flap cut is terrifying.

One of my friend's wife had it done and she developed chronic dry eyes to the point she has to wear motorcycle goggles so her eyes can retain moisture. There's nothing that can be done to solve her issue, and she went to a place that has over 20k procedures completed. Just know that nothing is guaranteed regardless of how they make it sound.

My dad also got it done and he was still forced to use glasses again within a year.
