Naw, honestly, I feel like Dr. House and his "puzzles" when people get sick... with computers, there's so many possibilities, it's always interesting to me. Although I hate Windows, I know it inside and out.. just have to start learning Windows 8 cause you know the next platform (the non-shitty one) will probably be based off of it, and if that's where industry goes, I wanna be a step ahead :D

^^^ Windows 8 will go the way of Windows ME and Windows Vista. Consumers don't like change, especially when it comes to GUI. As for the laptop in questions. If it was a heat issue, the laptop would have the same symptoms when any graphic intense programs were run or if the computer was put under heavy load for extended periods of time. Try to isolate when the issue occurs using http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/ as a benchmark to see if the frame-rates drop over time due to mem, cpu or gpu.
