LOOK AT THIS BULLSHIT.

"PCs are provided"
"jk CS players bring your own shit and oh, make sure it works on a Mac Pro"

The prize is a fucking joke too. I don't want or need more RAM, assholes. And if I'm bringing my keyboard, a Blackwidow, it better work with your system- oh wait, it's a Mac. My steelseries doesn't work on your Mac either.

This isn't a tournament, it's a bloody scam.

The OS X version runs at 1/3rd the FPS

The hardware is Apple but the OS is Windows 7 via Boot Camp (If that even means anything these days as the major OS's support EFI, all modern motherboards use it, and Windows 8 wants it). The specs http://lanation.eschamp.com/csgo/ FYI. The biggest problem i see is the video card and the CPU clock speed looks underwhelming too. Equality is the ticket and I maybe will accept these shortcomings but it has me debating with everyone else.

I just noticed that they're using 60Hz monitors...

Yeah, everyone's going to be on the same playing field, but fuck...

It's a quality piece of hardware for colour accuracy :P You shouldn't believe in the advertised marketing of most monitors anyway... Always trust in quality reviews like those found on http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews (High-speed cameras FTW). The way I see it is that network lag is far greater than a monitors response time so you're never going to see anything accurate within a refresh on LAN/WAN.

Lol, it's certainly not a quality piece of hardware for shooting people in the face accurately! Both monitor input lag and network lag have a huge impact on player performance; I wouldn't put one over the other. If a player has a good innate reaction time, good hardware will allow that to manifest.
