Questions answered in order of top to bottom.
yes very lucky, My doctors tell me often, More often then that I hear I'm very lucky to not have permanent brain damage bc my helmet fell off in the accident that why the ppl were able to come up to me and ask me questions. also why they could see the blood coming out of my mouth.
Recovery is done. as I was able to remember playing here and moreso then that I remember my login name and password lol. Im actually leaving sunnybrook tommorrow and going to toronto downdown rehabilitation
yep airlifted me and got me from burlington to toronto in 20 minutes flat! ima stat taking it more often
3/15 means 12 of my organ had shut down and only 3 were still responding. I dont really know what It means but they used it for rating my coma too. I dont remember the accident or my first week at the hospital so sry no details. My first memory was thinking this was a new site we were landscaping and I wondered where my crew was and why they weren't there to drive me back to the shop lol.
I'll be in toronto downtown rehab for about 2 more weeks then im back to burlington.
I only broke my left ankel. But in a motorcycle crash when u stop the quickly ur brain slaps against ur skull thats what Im recovering from now but they said no cells were killed only connections broken (typical motorcycle injury even for race riders)
my arms are fine but when I first woke up from coma about 2 days later I was trying to escapape and pull all the cords they stuck in me out (my throat still hurts and I choke on water by they streched it out -.-) I consider my worst injurt now to be the Catheter I almost pulled out twice. After placing it in the expacded it so a balloon about an inch think holds it in. I pulled it out twice before they straped me to my bed for the next 5 days.
im able to get errect now (didnt for about 4.5 weeks) but It still feels alittle unconfortable ive been assured will go away. Which I must say it feels uncomfortable now but back then i was saying I rather go thru the motorcycle accident again then feel it anymore.
3/15 3 out of my 15 major organs still worked. they all work now but in that type of injury ur body start to reroute the blood that left to the major organs. Stoping first with your stomach and intestines (the last ones u need back) Which means as things start back up they act like they didnt when u were a baby. I had to retrain my organs to act properly others i just needed to wait for them to get used to thier old job (no promotions in this body everything stays and works till i died). Its normal atleast that what they told me. I spent 2 weeks on liquid food before being allowed to eat again. But now I need some drugs to help get it thru my system :)
They say bc my brain was damaged all the newest connections will never comeback. which means I lost the short term memeory I was storing of the accident. So I'll prolly never remember it. as blood slows down your brain gets less and the newest connection die much faster then the rest of your brain.
I had my helmet strap on but it was a double d strap which broke and caused my helmet to come off. I remember the taxi stoping early (about 15-20 feet) then crawling to the next car. if u read the newpaper acticles i found you notice 1 he says he already came to a stop and another he stay he was still rolling. My first words when waking from the comma were "fucking taxi cab drivers". both my parents were there expecting minimal recovery so they were happys to see such a quick healing. they rated me at 8/16 that morning and 13/15 that afternoon i think. The nurses and doctor always talk about how fast I recovered. tehy said 3 months until recovery was expected but in 3 weeks I was awake communicatin normaly making new memorys and able to list of the 18 school I went to as a kid/highschool student. Im pretty solid now but they say it will take about 6 months for my brain to make a complete recovery but they are more hopeful of a full body+brain recovery now they when they gave me the first estimate saying 3 months till i get long term back. My friend/boss hasnt seen me since week 3 and since then i've done a massive about of brain recovery by typing emails/reading books and constant daily mental stimulation. i was a smart kid growing up and was certified gifted, the way I see it I have alot to regain.
biggest kick in the nuts was september 8th was the day of my m1 road test so if I went to that I would have a full license now and wouldn't have crashed on my way home from work.
1 more detail was it rained but not enough to rinse the oil on the road away (i had driven in the rain alot.) It rained just enough to spread it around. the time I go tairlifted it had all dried. those who drive bikes know thats the slipperiest time and thats prolly the main reason for the accident. him stoping sooner made me stop sooner but with my stopping distance extented by oilywater I hit him.
another thing I never went above the speed limit so i know when driving in the rain i was prolly doing 59 kph at the fastest. i remember ppl in north burlinton telling me to speed up bc I only did 60 as soon as it changed to 60 from 80 and they were watching me not the signs.
kk thanks for the questions and well wishes.
