Stumbled across this story about this kid who started college at age 9, and now is a M.D. at age 21.

I hear people every day saying how bored they are, but they dont do nothing productive about it. Myself included.​

A lot of the time it's the requirements, regulations, rules, bylaws (especially regarding youth and all of its 'protection') etc. that prevent such things like this from occurring. But lucky for this kid... good for him!

School officials worried that the rigors of medical school would hinder Yano's ability to have a normal adolescence.

She seems to miss the point entirely - if you're a college freshman by age 9 it means you've been working hard throughout your entire childhood which certainly means you're sacrificing a lot of the 'normal' experiences one would have when growing up and developing. I'm not necessarily sure this is a bad thing, but still the argument wasn't made that boredom is less damaging than challenging yourself, but just a suggestion of balance.

It's interesting that she assumes that the only alternative to being a try hard @ school is being bored - certainly not the case.

Ya, that's a very good point. Some people are introverts and don't find a lot of pleasure in social activities.. Even I can be like that sometimes.

Thanks for making it a little more clear adam haha.. Makes it easier to understand for us "GOOD KIDS" It does make sense though what does a 9 year old need to do with colledge.. I mean live a different life then the bored one you see.. There had to be other challenges then school.. Like learning music or sign language or helping the needy... KIDS PARENTS must have been whack.
