Frying Pans

Not sure if this a good place to put this thread, since there is no "Suggestion Box" so I decided I might as well put it here.

It has come to my attention that the lack of frying pans has grown to be something quite annoying to me. I'm pretty sure they've been banned because of sound spam issues, clearly. I only saw the ban of Pans were needed last Christmas when literally everyone on Steam got Left 4 Dead 2 for free, and a free Annoying Sound Cooking Apparatus to go along with it. If I ever wanted to spam the server with noise, why smack Pans around when I could easily fire my Minigun infinitely beside a Resupply Locker.

I'm just asking for the DGN Staff to reconsider the No Frying Pans rule, and for me to happily cook bacon once again.

I believe it was because some scouts decided to spam an Admin with pans repeatedly. Cannot confirm this, but that's what I heard.

It was around the time everyone got L4D2 for free as someone said previously (posting from phone cant remember who). All the newbies who never had the pan before just started spamming and spamming and spamming.
It went on for days and wasnt just an isolated incident.

Once one person started more would join and it would become a spam fest.


I say go for it. If more people agree, unban the pan on a trial period. If we start to get reports of mass panning then we should look into restricting it to a few per team or just removing it completely again.

Are pans annoying? Yes, but there are substitutes. If someone decides to dick around, warn, kick, ban. Punish those who abuse it and the ones who don't get to have their pan.
