Death building new pc

about time old man! I'd go on ncix, newegg, directcanada, and canadacomputers' sites and look for shit on sale. Bundle deals specifically. Just be sure to read the comments because even though some stuff is sold as a bundle, there can still be compatibility issues. one thing i never skimp out on is memory. RAM will give you the most issues and hassle if you buy garbage so don't necessarily go for the cheapest stuff (cough OCZ gold cough).

47 bang for buck build isnt I7 SSD 80$ case.

i agree with drugz RAM is very importent and its the part of the build youll notice the most.
for good bang for buck id go with an I5 and an nvidea 260. techs a little dated at this point but very solid build

for RAM im a fan of corsair

i5 2500K + aftermarket heatsink, i would get the 120GB intel SSD $199 at canada computers, 8gb ram and try and get an nvidia 480 thereabouts, that $80 case at canada computers is alright, i think the HAF922 is more or less the same and cheaper cause no rebates, looks the same to me as the 932
Some parts:

Some guy posted up his AMD build, I think it is bang for the buck better then the above when it comes to gaymen.

N82E16813130269 MSI 890GXM-G65 Motherboard $110
N82E16819103808 AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE C3 CPU $120
N82E16820231417 G.SKILL Sniper 8GB DDR3 1333 $80
N82E16814102908 SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6850 $175
N82E16820227542 OCZ Agility 2 60GB SSD $120
N82E16817151074 SeaSonic 430W Power Supply $75

The numbers in the beginning is Newegg Item#. This config gets the job done, plus 1000 saved.

Why would you ever suggest for someone to buy a 260 at this point and time.

Great he can build a new PC just to run new games on low. I know you like your resolutions on low clash, but come on.

Bang for buck = AMD/ATI build. Nvidia/Intel is nice, but overpriced for what they are.

I just built a computer with an AMD Phenom II x6 3.2 GHz and a ATI Radeon HD6990, wrapped it up in a tiny Apevia case (so small I had to take it apart to fit in the 6990) with an ASUS mobo, 2x4 gigs <m redline RAM, two terrabyte seagate HDDs (yeah, I know I didn't go SSD but I need capacity for my work), Blu-Ray drive, and a 900W Apevia power supply, saitek cyborg keyboard, gigabyte ghost mouse, and two 23" Samsung monitors for $2000 USD (so like $1950 CAD). Though for a budget rig I'd look at Dead Mike's suggestion. It's a solid build and a better value.

+1 Dead Mike

Not to mention you can get a nice i7 build for less than $1300. Just shop sales and deals.

I highly suggest buying the case 47 linked death, while its still only $80. 932-HAF = the SHIT!

I dunno its $75 430W, im running about that much on a $30 350W with no problems

Shit brand. Low watts. Bad price.

Triple FAIL.

After looking for less than 2 minutes:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703026
Same price(after rebate), free shipping, better brand, 5 year warranty, 200 more watts.

Not saying I would buy this PSU necessarily. Just saying, your advice is really bad.
Saving money doesn't mean you need to get shit tier hardware.

Very true - PSU's all have 80+ gold/silver power ratings, meaning they won't use huge power when you're idling/browsing. All I have to say is when you're upgrading, upgrade well, because if you don't then you'll find yourself on the marketplace in only a few years. Get 'er done well, gimmie a call and we'll roll!

mimic Pyro's build and you'll be set for a PC with current hardware. The only thing you may want to consider is going with an 6xxx series ati card vs the 560. (check benchmarks for favorite games)

The only thing is you need an actual number on how much you want to spend then build the best computer for that amount of money.

mostly i say i5-2500k, a compatible mobo with a good BIOS for overclocking, the HAF932 case, don't skimp on the video card (and do NOT get two video cards), and the rest purchase based on sales (PSU at least 650W). and for fuck's sake, get a small solid state drive for your operating system (windows 64 bit) and your favourite games. get a big HDD for storage. the load times on the SSD's are insane and totally worth the extra dough.

the i7-2600k (or any of the old i7s) is completely overkill since the i5 can do everything the i7 can as far as gaming goes. the new i5 is quadcore. the i7 is as well, but also has hyperthreading, which gamers DON'T NEED. you might as well save that cash and spend it on a better video card - you will notice a way bigger performance increase for gaming.

4gb of ram will be enough for you death if you go with a build as i've suggested. but that will be your bottleneck as future games are released. however, you can always add more ram as needed. if you have any questions, just ask and I will be glad to help.

i have the 750 wat PSU coolermaster that 47 linked very good PSU, if you wanna build this right id say spend a few months waiting for parts you want to come on sale rather than buying lower qiuality parts now. took me 2 months to order all the parts for my computer but its a hell of a lot better than it would have been if i had just shoped the deals that weekend
