CS:S Weapon sounds are silent/absent - URGENT

Hello there, after re-skinning all my player models and weapon models, including a bunch of new weapon sounds, a week later the server updates to only allow weapon skins without new sounds (plays original weapon sounds by default). To fix the problem I thought that I could just delete all my sounds from the sounds/weapon/(specific weapon) folder in /cstrike, but as it turns out I was still having the same problem. Then after that I deleted all the scripts (for weapon sounds) and again same problem. So now I'm thinking...fuck, I need my original weapon sounds back for ALL my weapons, but WHERE DO I download THE ORIGINAL SOUNDS/files FOR THE CS:S weapons?? For example, "clip-in" and "clip-out" for glock, usp, and some sub-machine guns don't work at all and it's dead silent when someone reloads...which is uber gay. Please help me here!!

go into steam, right click your game and delete local content, then dl the files again from steam by clicking on the game as if you were going to play it

i have some skins to replace the horrible default models from 10 yrs ago. im missing ak fire sound. the server seems to be forcing "cal mode", which is no sprays and forced models. plz fix this

about KGBGrant, there is no way that i know of that u can restore default skins. only reinstall.
if u find out how, plz tell me.

Which is why you shouldn't download different skins. Looong looooong ago (waaaaaay back in early TD1.0) we had Admin skins and that was cool/different, but the novelty wears out and then it becomes stupid.

my deagle and scout skins are my favorite. deagle is high definition so its bigger and u can see every detail + the sound ROCKS.

the scout is all black and tactical w a bigger looking scope and a beefier sound

I'm not sure, but we've set it so it should ignore your custom folder, and use default skins. Wierd.

One thing I forgot to ask was, assuming I do as cal68 does and right click steam and delete local content, in order to download the original files (e.g. original weapon sounds) will I lose all my new weapon and player skins (do I have to back them up in a non-steam folder)???

i would assume that deleting 'local content' will remove your custom files. so yes, back them up.

People people people....

All the default content resides in a .gcf file, it's always there and never goes away. If you fuck with the gcf file it will make you redownload it before playing.

All custom content which replaces default stuff goes in the counter strike source/cstrike directory, this directory will over ride the gcf if the files are named the same as the default files.

We are set to sv pure 1, we allow custom weapon models, skins and sounds. We do not allow custom player modles or skins as well as player sounds. We do this to prevent exploiting.
