i love how this shit only happens to Catholics themselves. If it happened to an atheist, the god illusion may seem a bit more apparent. the fact that no other religions report miracles, EVER, save for the old testaments jews, also just makes the believers look like a bunch of kooks.

The word faith implies belief with no evidence. If anything like this was actually proved to have happened, it would not be faith. And if this were to proove that there was higher power, your disposition towards that higher power would not rely on faith, but truth.
Theres lots of evidence that would suggest we aren't just some cosmic accident. So believe that. There is meaning to our existance. This is not to say that there will be judgement. Which is what I dislike about most religion.
Organised religeon is geared towards makin people feel as if there is something to lose. Which is the good opinion of a higher power. We all know there is nothing more dangerous than a man with nothing to lose.
I truly belive that there is a force, moving everything towards where it is going. But I'm not about to try to understand it. It would be like grain of sand trying to understand the process of erosion. Its all around you, and its happening. Thats all you know.

People always want others to respect their faith. The problem there is that you can't have faith without credulity. In no other aspect of people's lives is believing without evidence acceptable. In fact, apply having faith to almost any situation and the person in that situation will come across as a fool. Except when it comes to the idea of a god.
Besides, all this story does is raise questions, not answer them. Questions such as:
What kind of ineffective god has to communicate through silly parlor tricks like making statues "cry"?
