Couple of quick questions to help with you boot issues, as I've encountered them ALL lol.

1 ) How many operating systems do you have installed (including Leopard OSX)?

2 ) Are you using one hard drive for all operating systems, or does each operating system have it's own hard drive?

Ok so. Here's the procedure:

- Using OSX install disk, make two partitions: First as Mac Extended Journaled), the second as FAT32
- Install Mac First
- Install Windows Last
- Boot into Windows, use BCDEDIT to make "Generic X86 Mac" Boot entry, and you're done.

If you install Windows first, then you gotta do all that grub bullshit (I thought it was complicated) :( lol

Lemme know how it goes...

I have both os's installed and working. But i am having a problem with the boot. i have chameleon 2, and i can boot win from start up. i can boot osx from disk. but i need to be able to boot them both from start up w/o any help from an outside source. aka disk.
Just turn it on and pick your death.

Arright, so the dualboot should work fine as long as you boot from the apple partition first (because the Chameleon bootloader will show both Mac and Win7, then you just pick which to boot from).

As for the wireless card, go in Windows->Device Manager and gimmie the make and model. (i.e. Intel AGN4695 etc etc).

There are kexts out there, however some cards just will not work because no one's made drivers for them.

just a broadcom 802.11g, that's all the info it gives. i had it working during setup but it quit when i finished setup., i also had chameleon working and it's not working , so i think i'll reinstall.

Broadcom should be supported right off the disk - just select a driver.

As for the chameleon, have you ever booted from the disk to install just a driver by itself? You can do so, but must unselect EVERYTHING in the list, and just select the driver/kext, and reboot. That'll fix it.

Fuck me, here's your fix, 100%:

you gotta delete the Broadcom keft you installed. It's in:
system/library/extensions

then google "Ralink", go to the main site. Look up drivers for ralink wireless cards, and use the apprpriate one for you (I.e. USB wireless card, or pci wireless). Windows device manager can tell you how your card is connected through vendor ID's n shit.

Install the Ralink shit, and then you'll have a wireless utility that auto-boots on startup that searches for wifi, and you can connect.

No go, it says radio on but os is sayin cannot blah blah device.
[/quote1277850582]

Which means you installed the incorrect Ralink driver/software for the Broadcom. It's not supposed to work, but it does. I think the Broadcom's have Ralink chipsets - or something like that, and thus, it works. Try again, and make sure you install the correct driver version for the chipset, as well as the correct driver with respect to how it's connected (usb wifi device, or pci(e) wifi device).

Ok, i will try and tweek it . but it seems that the third party apps are recognizing the card, but the os is being retarded and going deerrrr. i'll give it a go.

can not open communication device. this is the same message i keep getting. it seems strange that they don't have auto detect for the hardware.

Uhmm? You make no sence.

If your using the Ralink drivers you can ONLY use the Ralink program the Mac system can not control it.

At least that's what I found out when I installed a Ralink USB device.

ok, my card is the internal broadcom card that came stock.

i can boot, and everything works pretty damn good. BUT for some reason with and without any drivers/programs the os is not recognizing the wifi card.

it just says " cannot read the communication device "

when i open the ralink app up it says no device.. but it also says the radio is on, and i can turn it off.

i have scoured the net for info and tons of people report that this config is working and fully compatible and it seems so, xcept this fucking wifi.

And what i meant cock, is that it would be nice if the os automatically detected the hardware and chose the right drivers/kexts for said hw.
