Codec for AC-3 audio

I am trying to find codec packs that actually work, i figured you are the guy to help me out (for Windows)

Videos containing AC-3 audio files wont play, i get no sound. and if i try to run it in VLC or windows media i get sound and no video. |Any suggestions?

Also, my vids on windows media player, VLC and VIO player have no vid but sound, and on DIVX i get vid but no sound.... WTF is going on? how can i fix this?

I use that for WindowMediaCenter it will work with MediaPlayer as well.

FUCK ME, still no vid only sound with all players but Divx, now divx has sound but it is all static...​

OK here is how i fixed VLC, changed video output to openGL and turned off acceleration. hopefully this doesnt fuck up everything else. i DLed the cccp codec pack just for back up. thanks for your help fellas.

Hey, I've been busy as shyte lately with work, fml... Sorry.

Yes, for no video, disable hardware accel, or bad codec.

To be honest, I convert all videos I download so they fit me; instead of me trying to find software to make shit work. I do everything on Mac except game, but back when I used Windows, I would Super Video Converter (it's free, from E-RIght Soft):

This bitch will convert anything. Oh, and it's fairly quick, too, depending on your system.

Thanks for the information! I plan on burning all of the movies to Disc eventually anyways so a good converter should help a lot, I appreciate everyone's help.
