last time i dloaded a WGA patch, it infected my PC with a nasty trojan... so i reformatted and reinstalled windows xp... the copy i have does not ask me to validate my windows, however I cannot update any files even the mp3 player without validating... i have a genuine copy of vista..that i will eventually use once im fed up with xp
