More money laundering,

News of Mt.Gox being hacked for over 2 years, bitcoins being stolen by malware, and Silk Road #2 having all of their Bitcoins stolen.

If you want to see real money laundering, please read http://www.rollingstone.com/politic...lement-proves-the-drug-war-is-a-joke-20121213

No bitcoin involved here.

Mt. Gox was not hacked... their trading platform was vulnerable to bitcoin's transaction malleability, an issue that has been known for years. Even after being warned about it they failed to act on it.

Mt.Gox is run by a bunch of idiots and now it looks like they are done forever. Good riddance.

Silk Road #2... who gives a shit about silk road?

Cock why are you trolling this thread so hard? are you trying to get troll of the year?

But money laundering doesn't happen with Crypto currency .... Least that seems to be the party line.

I never said it was just something that happens to Bitcoin, :fulloffuck: only a fool would take that stance.

As stated here many times it's supposed to be impossible to do so in Bitcoin. Yet people are still doing it and succeeding.

Yup they're idiots.

If it wasn't a hack how they can take money from "cold" wallets....?
Serious answer.

Silk Road #2... who gives a shit about silk road?

How can you steal something that's supposed to be 100% traceable?

Cock why are you trolling this thread so hard? are you trying to get troll of the year?

I don't see this as trolling.
If I wanted to troll, you wouldn't be asking why.

I'm posting relevant recent information about Crypto currency.

I don't even understand how anyone looking at the concrete facts could assume Bitcoins are somehow not perfect for money laundering. First of all, anyone can open a Bitcoin wallet completely anonymously. There's no disputing that, it's simply a fact; you don't need to tie your identity to the mere ownership of a wallet that can receive coins. So already, that makes it a de-centralized (read: unshutdownable) international way to wire funds without having to depend on or expose oneself to a third-party money transfer service.

In other words, the only hurdle is setting up a safe bank account that you can tie to an exchange and withdraw ill-gotten gains from without being pinched for it. Considering all the personal information dumps floating around on the underground markets, plus the willing cooperation of banks (who, as of the HSBC fiasco, clearly know they'll get away with laundering your funds anyway), that final step from virtual Bitcoin to fiat cash-in-hand is not really such a daring leap to take.

I never said there wasn't anybody laundering money with bitcoin or that it's impossible. Constantly bringing up bitcoin and money laundering is a lame excuse to bash it.

Mt.Gox either lied about using cold storage or their system was automated which defeats the whole purpose of cold storage.

Bitcoin transactions are traceable but it can take some legwork to actually track down where the transactions are going to as there are methods to make it difficult.

If you aren't trolling why are you constantly posting negative FUD articles from authors that know nothing about bitcoin?

I never said

Hate to brake it to you sweetie,

You're not the centre of the universe, and certainly not the centre of this thread.

You take any negative view of Bitcoin a tad to personally.

I went to a anti money laundering conference .... 60-70% of bitcoin is used by money launders... the other 30-40% are dumb investors trying to make a quick buck with something they dont know.

So it was a minor troll but a successful one.
