I was he first to be banned from forums. Didn't even bother to try server. Wouldn't be surprised if i'm banned from server too.

Haha! Discuss this all you want, but please stop bashing poor Mahone. He has done a lot for this community. He is just freaking out so he is banning all of us, but think back for a second. If it wasn't for him, TD would have been gone 2 years ago. I am banned from both, but i dont hate the guy. I hope he finally comes to his senses, joins our forums and come plays on our new server!

I disagree. I've always been waiting in the background to "buy" TD. Mahone cried and complained, and all the while I was just waiting for him to pull the plug. The reason that we got THIS site set up, is because some of the BHA took it apon themselves to finally do something.

Yes you did Leroy, and you all know how strongly I supported Mahone and tried to help him fix the lag issues.
I recieved a very sincere email from Mahone today and it was very kind and he explained somethings to me about his frustration with the lag and his recent lost of interest in the forums. He also said he IS considering selling off the servers and joining us here. I have not replied to his letter yet, because it will be too emotional for me to do so from work. Mahone is a good man and for those of you who balked at the server cost of $700/month (1/4 Rack at Peer1), you can ask LB and Bucky if that is true.
Leroy and I had discussed in PMs about buying out Mahone after he posted his desire to pass on his responsibilities.
My prob wasn't the initial cost, it was the long term, 700/month cost.
PS. I will not post the letter, it is a personal letter between friends, don't even bother to ask me.

1) We inquired with Peer 1, it costs 700-800 for 1/4 rack per month. Mahone was renting 1/4 rack so he was indeed paying $700/mo. I REPEAT, THE COST WAS REALLY $700 FOR THE SPACE AND ISP ONLY.
2) Mahone is a busy man. He has his personal life's priorities; hence why he was not up to speed with the community's demands.
3) Server was laggy and council was inactive. Nobody except Mahone had the power to do anything about server and website. Him having all the powers and not having the time to fix anything led us to get a server and make this website.
I have nothing personal against Mahone, but i love this community too much to see it go down the drain. So please be kind to Mahone, i will welcome him with arms wide open if he chooses to join our new forums and server. He did cover most of the $700.00 out of his own pocket every month and provided us with a place to play. He rescued TD when AEQ left. The problem was a poor administration of both server and website due to his personal life's priorities.

Yeah, I talked with mahone like 2 nights ago, he bascially wished me well whichever server I ended up on, told him I would play on both the new server and his server once and a while (to be nice :P ) .... I talked to him about selling his server and coming to join us here but he seemed pretty against it at the time...
he told me that AEQ was actually back helping him with the server and they were trying to fix the lag problem... told me AEQ was changing the Kernal or something this week and next week or the week after they were going to see if they could get cheaper rates... i don't really understand exactly what he was saying tho cuz i'm not good with server crap lol...
anyways, mahone gave us a place to play for the last few years so I think some respect should be shot his way, and if he wants to set-up shop here I think he should still be able to get an admin slot (possibly higher) if you guys deem it fit.

Agree with Buckshot, Kirock and Spinny.. It's not personal (for me) with Mahone.. he did what he did and I did what I had to (come here)... just business as usual. However, after a lovely e-mail I sent Mahone, and COUNTLESS efforts to try to befriend Mahone and maybe help him out, talk to him - anything a friend would do for a friend, no response. His lack of respect and humanity towards me has led me to NOT get choked up over anything. I will always appreciate what he has done for TD, and I embrace his welcome here, but I will not tolerate such ignorance any longer... if he joins, Cool.. he might actually say hi now that he's no longer cracking whips... who knows...

Same here, I have mad respect for the guy, he put his time & money into TD for 2 years, never forget that, I know how hard it is to run a website that needs constant updating, plus he ran 3 dedicated servers, that's a load of work for his reason "just want a place to play".
Well, if he does indeed sell off the servers I really do hope he finds here "a place to play" & not worry about all the work that needs to be done, he deserves a break.

Plain and simple truth. I offered to help Mahone several times, and he always ignored me. Or he would rant about how difficult it is to maintain a server.
In game, whenever said "hey mahone", he' responded by saying "what."
When he offered all those jobs, I was enthusiastic about the website developer. I got an A+ in the field in college so I am certainly qualified. But of course, I didn't even get a reply from him.
I mean, I respect dude, but come on. Respect has to be a mutual thing.
