State your case: I was accused of scamming when I had simply said I have to go get the keys. The server admin left and told everyone not to trade me because I was scamming.

Hi MarksmanSanders, I was the administrator who banned you.

The player with whom your conflict originated was not a DGN admin. The DARKLY tag is public and is available for anyone to use.

Regardless, I did not ban you on the player's accusations. After you and said player terminated the trade, a brief argument ensued. During this I heard you mention wanting to use a MiddleMan you had suggested. I explained that suggesting the use of a third-party MiddleMan that was not verified on SteamRep is considered highly suspicious behavior and thus I could not allow it on the server. You responded by stating that you were SteamRep verified, then left the server 10 seconds later. I checked, and not only are you not a verified MiddleMan on SteamRep, but your Steam profile is private. Impersonation of a SteamRep MiddleMan is considered an act of fraud, and a private Steam profile further confirms the suspicion of a scammer. Thus, I placed the ban.

If you believe this information is in some form flawed or you have any evidence of your innocence, please provide it immediately. Lack of response within one week shall result in forfeiture of the appeal.

Well then I do sincerely apologize, see I was not in use of my account at the time, i left it in the hands of my friend at my apartment, it would be greatly appreciated if I could get this ban lifted, the information I supplied was as stated by the before mentioned friend, please do know I am sorry for any trouble caused.

Understand that you are responsible for your account at all times. It is your responsibility to maintain your account's security and prevent unauthorized use of it. Your account is your identity; it is not possible to verify who was using your account and when. Thus, claims that you were not in control of your account at the time of the offense cannot be accepted as legitimate evidence in support of your appeal. Please note that impersonation, regardless of who commits it (you or your friend), is in direct violation of the Steam Online Conduct code.

I can promise it won't happen again, I regret what has transpired tonight, and I will not be letting anyone near my account in the future, you have my sincerest apologies for tonight.
Would you please remove the ban that was placed on my account, I am deeply sorry about the impersonation and anyone that might have been fooled, though I don't think anyone was.

There is an inconsistency in your claims - you did not mention the impersonation in your initial post, indicating that you either withheld this information or were not aware of it. But if you were not aware it had happened, then you also would not have known the other events that transpired, which you outlined in your appeal. Additionally, your profile was private at the time of the impersonation, yet you made it public before posting the appeal. I find this behavior to be misleading and dishonest.

As was aforementioned, you are responsible for all activity performed by your account. Regardless of whether or not a friend committed the actions you have been accused of, for the safety of our players we cannot trust your account on our servers. Appeal denied.

the friend I mentioned before used my account, as I had left my account logged in while I was at work, I have changed my password, and as for my account being private, my friend had admitted to changing this, which is why I changed it back to the way it had been prior to tonight. I have not done any wrong besides leaving my account online with my friend at my apartment. I have taken lengthy measures to ensure this doesn't happen again, is there anyway my account can be un-banned from the Darkly servers, I have had a clean reputation prior to tonight, and I would greatly appreciate my account not being tarnished because of my foolish friend.

I would greatly appreciate my appeal being approved, I am sorry for any trouble caused, and I do not wish to do anything on DARKLY servers besides Idle, and Trade items, I enjoy the activities that go on there, so please some leniency on this matter would be appreciated, and would not be taken either lightly nor advantage of.

Im aware that I am not the banning admin, so technically should not be posting here.
But this whole "my friend used my account" doesnt fly around here. We ban the account that did the crime, who you are in the real world doesnt matter, in our servers you are STEAM_0:1:36569598, so if STEAM_0:1:36569598 broke our rules than STEAM_0:1:36569598 can no longer play on our servers. Regardless who whos hands were controlling STEAM_0:1:36569598.

Well is there anyway that STEAM_0:1:36569598 can be appealed for STEAM_0:1:36569598 actions, because the owner of the account wishes to make up for what STEAM_0:1:36569598 has done, STEAM_0:1:36569598 is very sorry for everything that has taken place, and hopes that there is someway that STEAM_0:1:36569598 can get a second chance on Darkly Servers where STEAM_0:1:36569598 has had much enjoyment with both the people and the admins.
