I think a lot of people just like to have the guns for display. It's like having some cool swords to display vs LARPing. If you LARP, you're obviously beyond saving.

I don't get airsoft, I mean it's all just based on trust isn't it? What if someone doesn't want to play dead? There's really no way to confirm if someone has been hit or not because the projectiles are tiny and don't leave obvious marks like paintballs. Isn't it just as much fun to play frisbee without requiring the purchase of an ultra-realistic, retardedly expensive toy gun? :neutral:

they aren't that expensive. cheapest spring guns are about $50. a decent electric one is about $100. @ playing dead... depends on what kind of scenario you are playing. some games allow players to re-spawn or be revived by a "medic". i have never heard of anyone laying on a field playing dead. if anything they walk off after being hit. yes, the game is based on trust. the $100 dollar guns can shoot about 350 to 400 FPS. most people can feel that. it is not for everyone though.
