Admins, please be diligent in kicking afks

Just waited 10 minutes to get into the server to play some D2. Finally got in and for 5 straight rounds there were 2 afk CTs. I asked numerous times in chat and in voice to get them kicked so others could join and it never happened. I know there were admins on as an afk T was slayed.

Everyone feels the frustration when they can't join the best server around. Imp, if you see an afk and the server is full, don't bother slaying, just give them the boot. If they're not courteous enough to go spec then they can wait til another spot opens.

I can agree that 5 rounds is a bit much. I'd expect a player to alert an admin to a round or two to take a piss, get a drink/snack etc. That's fine, but 5 is a bit much. I'll spread the word. Don't worry children, we still president.

Is there not an autokick plugin? We used to have a plugin on the css server that would autokick players who were afk for X amount of rounds.

I've only put in a few hours on the server in the last few days, but I have yet to see a message relating to an autokick plug-in being present.

the rage-educing problem is that the retards at valve woke up one day after a big meth party and decided that everyone in spec gets auto-assigned to a team at the beginning of every new map. thats where all teh fucking afk's come from. every time i idle, i come back to see myself being afk for fuck knows how many rounds.


p.s. whoever the admin is that slays afk's instead of putting them to spec or kicking them =

It's probably best to steam message an admin, or use "team chat" + "@(message)" for direct admin chat in game. It is a bit hard to watch every single message in the chat box and watch for hackers and team stackers and still have fun and play ourselves. If we can't do that then what the hell is the point of even playing the game. I think you need to lighten up a bit, you seem to always want to come on here and complain like you could do a better job. Have you ever been an admin before? If you have and it's where I think, that don't hold much weight around these parts.

I think they might've fixed the auto-join thing in the last patches because when I was playing yesterday, it never went past the first window and I didn't automaticly join a team.

Thanks for the admin chat message tip. I will do that in the future. I don't have any admins in steam friends but I know most admins would agree that it's a pain in the ass getting steam chat messages all the time asking for afk kicks.

You know I have been admin before and if you think "that don't hold much weight around these parts" then you're wrong. Admin'ing is admin'ing. The general "Darkly attitude" is pretty much the only thing stopping me from applying because you guys seem to unfairly hate everyone associated with WTF. Case in point, my first experience with you guys was being banned for simply being a WTF admin.

I have no idea what happened in your past as I came along after all the shit went down but all I want to do is play CS and enjoy my time playing it. I come on here to post when I see areas where there is an improvement to me made. Perhaps my tone comes across negative at times but I always have the interests of the server and community in mind when I make suggestions or ask questions.

But seriously....Even TD admins have to wait just like everyone else to get in the server so I know what its like to wait. Not a good feeling.

The WTF hate is an OG beef. Not all of us were around when that shit went down, and not all of us judge automatically just because WTF.

I don't play much, but basically the only thing I do as Admin on the server is Kick AFKs.
I always hang around in spawn for a while until every person leaves, if someone doesn't leave, I take note of their name and check for them next round.
Obviously that can only be done on the Team I'm playing so I try to spec to the other side if when I die.

Admins get distracted by playing the game too, though their primary function is to administrate when they're on. I think most will happily kick an AFK if you just ask, particularly when you the server is full.
