*2/10/12 Scrim Tournament* Setup

If you do not end up on a team it is because :

A) You signed up later than those who made it.
B) You did not post in the sign-up thread with everyone else
C) There weren't enough people left to make a team and you're forced to ring.

Ringers can be reached through The Toronto darkly steam group or by word of mouth. Most people know each other and an admin like myself can help you out there.

Now ask any questions and please make suggestions. This is my first time organizing a tournament here so I'm bound to miss something.

Once teams are established (including your ringer choices) are you gonna draw out a sexy table in MS Paint with the brackets, teams, maps, all that jizz

8 teams... it looks like!

:p

So white and I are rethinking this as I was only really planning on like 4-5 actually showing up. Whites gonna make a sweet chart and go from there.

@ skd mrk or brades, can we setup a second scrim server for the weekend? Gonna be a lot of games needing to be played. If not then thats cool, just a matter of getting this done quicker.

I would recommend if we have enough space/capacity on the chicago nfo server that we setup another scrim server on that box. We can do Toronto, but I personally have ping issues with that box.

posted this in the other thread, but it's more appropriate here:

We had a quick question on the format, is it pool play or a bracket? And if bracket, single or double elim?

I'm also assuming we're going to get more precise times for games as this approaches. My team is good for the weekend, but they can't spend the WHOLE weekend just sitting on css idling and waiting for people to show up as we have 3 players that will me in the midst of midterms and will need time to study.

Not 100% set in stone yet, but I'll leave this here til 44 replies.

Group play then bracket finals based on groups results. More details later :)

Patience grasshopper. We know people have lives, so we won't be going round the clock. Gonna keep it real.

I was wondering what are the times for the tourney...hopefully we're not expected to be available from 7am one morning to 6 am at night the next. A general time frame would be appreciated; for example 5pm-12pmEST.-thanks

seriously, guys? Its not rocket science. Listen.

This thing start on the 10th. You organize your own games. when the first round completes, we move on.

It will all depend on how dedicated we are to finishing it. I got this thing off the ground. Now take it and go with it.

Not to mention there are 2 scrim servers. That means that 2 different matches can take place at the same time.

Pretty much make sure you're available for the most part for all 3 days.

Thanks for getting that set up

so first come first serve on server?

Pretty much, .44 wrote this on the tourney rules thread: "After the initial match-up (which I make for you), you will need to organize your own matches with opposite teams. IT IS UP TO YOU TO COMPLETE THE REQUIRED GAMES TO QUALIFY FOR SECOND ROUND. I suggest using the tournament section of the forums to do this. "

So if teams can post when they will have their matches, it will make it easier for others to organize theirs.

Just to clarify, all 3 of the group play matches are being played on dust2, correct?

As for availability it's still a bit early for us to set anything in stone, but it sounds like we 'should' be able to do anything after 9pm on the friday. The Saturday we can probably start in the early afternoon, but we're unsure how late we can go that day at this point in time.

Royal Veggies, are you guys good to set a tentative day/time for 2/10 at night?
