I've noticed on the server that a few people may be running some type of script
they snap to wherever they get shot from
is it a script? is it game legal?
any info on this?

Snap to?
There would be no legal script. An experienced player hears or sees the muzzle flash of the person shooting them.

record a demo if in doubt and let us know.

I'd have to see a demo. I know I spin quickly if I feel/hear/see someone shooting me from behind or other angle.

i will get you a demo if i can, but i don't mean spin, i'm talking 180 without seeing the turn. no matter what sens you have, you'll see the scene change, but this is instant

tonight probably around 8-9 pm on egon, will update this post with the name of the guy

when i would spec him after i died, it wasn't just 180's he'd snap 45, 90 etc, wherever he was being hit from, just wondering how that works

also it wasn't an instant HS or anything like that

time wasted

/thread

You know instead of being a prick you could at least say whether or not you looked at the sourcetv archive.
I do kind of expect some level of professionalism from you, it was a concern of mine, just a question, I don't recall my post saying "OMFG I GOT HAXORD BAN THIS ASSHAT" I simply asked a question due to a concern. (was wondering if anyone including admins have seen anything like this in the past or had any experiance like this) I know better than to ask for an opinion now.

Thanks

when you're being shot you have red shit on your screen that tells you where you're being shot from

what you're probably seeing is what is known as "reaction"

Fork, I understand people react to the red indicators. I will try to better explain what I see sometimes.
Lets say you're in game and you fling your mouse across your desk. We all have machines capable of producing over 100 FPS in game, so you would see a 360º view of wherever you are on the map. And when people react to being shot (myself in included) there are a few frames where you see the person changing direction. (you can see the scene change from looking infront to looking behind, you see your surroundings)

What I've seen a few times is as follows:
Player1 is engaged in a firefight already, they've already focused on a target. Player2 approaches from the side or behind, outside of player1s feild of view. If the player2 fails to hit player1 in the head right off the bat, player1 is instantly looking right at player2 (crosshair on body). There are no frames of the scene in between from someone doing a quick movement with their mouse.

I've heard rumors about a script like this going around. Never actually seen it though. But apprently it won't automatically shoot, it just spins 180 around at the current height of your crosshairs.

Again just rumors, so not sure

I can actually understand Kato's concern here, and in all honesty he has brought it forth respectfully. Someone at least pull the demo (so long as Kato posts when/what map it happened, I think he did) so we can address it. I don't have access to that or I'd do it for you.

Who knows man, shit like that just might be out there lol
