Some of these comments ... comon. There is a right and wrong, and if American didn't intervene in a lot of conflicts you would be speaking German right now (don't think old aldof would have left sweet canada alone). Its not our fault that the middle east lives in the stone age and hates us. Talk about tunnel vision what do you go by what the news tells you. YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT GOES ON OUTSIDE YOUR BUBBLE. Not saying I do either, the government doesn't tell us anything. There could be life threatening events daily you do not know about. So stop with your wars... Do you smoke pot? Probably. Is it legal? No - so I guess most of us are part of the problem. If your going to prove a point put some facts into it. Don't sit here an name countries. Like BJ said middle eastern people are migrating taking HANDOUTS FROM ALL GOVERNMENTS. Its a joke.

Jobs pay less in America, but when all is said and done it IS equal to Canada. The cost of living here is much lower than in Canada. I can get a nice 1 bedroom apt in Uptown MPLS for $500-600, $300-400 for a nice 1 bedroom out of the city. You pay a much higher tax rate, you pay more for gas(I just filled up @ 88cents a liter), more for food, etc.

What does Canada have that makes it such a wonderland to live in? Free health care(its not free if it comes out of your paycheck, stupid)?

Haters gonna hate, but USA still is an amazing place to live.

Do you not see your thinking as self defeating? You sound like one of those women who get the shit kicked out of them by their husbands and then defend them because "I deserved it." What a horrible way to live.
Also there are plenty of places where being at the bottom ain't half bad.. just depends on what you want out of life.

As iCe said, I am a realist. Look back at what the life of your family tree was like past your grandparents.
Objectively say working 9-5 at walmart is really that bad compared with the lives EVERYONE lived for thousands of years before this century.

amen to Hawaii!!.. also for the fuck of it..you should all be glad you got a roof over your head.... food to eat... a JOB(most of you anyway!).. a few nice toys(cars, computers,women...lol) cause really ALL of our governments SUCK!! yeah believe it I can't think of one country that doesn't have a corrupt or greedy or ignorant(or all 3!!) asshole amongst them.. so there i've said my peace... what are you saying, where did i ever say that you can't excede your situation

you think socialism is a mechanism to lock people down? are you on crack? Properly structured social programs help develop the talent that is hidden deep within everyone and give everyone a chance to make a living doing whatever it is that they do best.

give me a list of jobs that a colledge/university graduate could attain that will put them in a position at 30 years of age to support a 3 person family and expect to be in a comfortable retirement by age 50

now take that list and remove anything that is related to the banking sector, medical sector and judicial sector.

you'll be left with, if anything, is a list of highly specialized trade jobs that for the most part require relocation.
