Counter Strike is the Granddaddy of ALL First Person Shooters!

(yeh I know Quake and Unreal came out first and are great competitive games played by PRO Gamers but CS did so much more for the FPS genre)

It's the game that really put competitive online Gaming on the map! Battlefield, Call Of Duty, Halo, etc. all owe it to CS and what it brought to the Gamers and industry as a whole.

Hell at any time you can always find 50K Gamers playing CS 1.6 or CS:S online and the game is 13 years old! (Name a game with this large a community that is over 13 years old....)



So yeh i would put CS in my "Greatest Games ever" list cause it's the shooter that really brought so many Gamers together Online and ALL the "Modern Warfare" shooters of today and hell even "Futuristic Shooters" have CS to thank!

Well you can't forget about TF2. Sure it's only around 7 years old, but it's still going strong.

Civiliation. Came before Wolfenstein 3D with the first game releasing in 1991, has had over 15 released/patches (not sure of the exact number), is one of the only turn-based strategy games still alive, and is still considered one of the best strategy games available.

my first big games were half-life for a fps, Ultima online for a mmo and dune 2 for a rts. all still some of my favorite memories in my young gaming career.
