I disagree with pakistan taking US side... IF a repulican wins office in 2012 I wouldnt doubt US putting more pressure on Pakistan regarding harboring Terrorist and if they are not satisfied i can see US going into Pakistan. Look at recent press releases that Bin Laden is believed to be hiding in northern pakistan near border of Afganistan....

There will never be a next world war, rather the fear of it will continuously be reinforced to further the procrss of turning the world's public into sheep. Once the sheep have been moulded enough, the world will unify government, all soverignty obliterated, and the masses will be helpless to a world dictatorship.

Dare I say it, but the US is not failing, or not doing as bad as it potentially could be. It was only a few years ago that the price of a barrel of oil topped $100 each. Now that the US invaded the middle east, OPEC is shitting their pants because they are deathly afraid of the cowboy americans.
Oil market has since stabalized, things are quite calm in most markets.
I'm being dead serious too, everyone (besides americans, it seems) know why the americans are over there, and I honestly think its working. Gotta remember that no sheiks have any armies per say, no method to defend their oil wells. The americans have lost, what? ~1400 men? In WW2 we were losing that a day.

economy is bad because of houseing (sp? for fork/SJ) crisis, not b/c of war. (trust me im a finance major, have studied all of it) This escapade which is not a war has cost money but also has provided the US w/ Leverage such as Oil, and other resources which leroy has pointed out. It cannot be said or determined b/c they wont tell you how much the US has gained b/c that would be "uneithical" to take other people's resources.. hahhahahahhahaha. but US is doing fine.
