Windows 7 Godmode

Step1: create new folder on desktop
Step2: rename it to the following: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Step3: ????
Step4: profit.

pretty much puts every possible setting that you can change for windows into one list. pretty handy instead of navigating thu the god awful control panel and whatnot.

Don't do this on Vista64 or you'll laugh, then curse and then realize you should have Googled it first.

yea might be a different registry value for different OS. this post was intended for people who don't use the god awful Vista operating system.

So except for memory, they are basically the same. Which sounds like Vista with an extra SP refinement.
A bit floored that the guy is running either Vista or Win7 with only 4 gigs of RAM. Makes me wonder what features/candy he has turned on/off in both and if it's a true comparison.

Short version, for me, the performance upgrade is not worth the expense of buying a new OS.
If you have XP (or older)... obviously go straight to Win7.

I still laugh at the people I knew that had Vista problems and blamed Vista, when it was a clear case of PEBKAC.
What??? You installed your printer drivers from the included CD? Those are XP! lol
Or when they grabbed x64 drivers for their x32 version of Vista.

For me, it wasn't just about benchmarks, it was about every day use. I found that on a regular basis, Vista would give me many more problems/roadblocks/errors etc. when compared to Windows 7. I understand it's incredibly hard to quantitate that, however, as an enduser, that equates into quite a large change, and for the better.

Also, obviously, Windows 7 is more user friendly, has a much nicer looking GUI, and supports the latest and greatest hardware to the best (***best meaning, whatever's current at that time, and what updates you've done - drivers etc.) capability. I bought Vista, legit, and was thoroughly disappointed. Hence, I've downloaded windows 7, and refused to pay to Microsoft what Vista should have been (windows 7).
