Windows 8?

2011 Troll of the Year
Micro$hit is digging their grave with their teeth. Why the fuck would they think anyone wants a phone UI on a desktop? They're either overshooting and expecting everyone to trade mouse + keyboard in for touch peripherals or just plain retarded up in the HQ.

A phone UI on a desktop wouldnt be bad if of course everything was touch oriented. I'm going to wait until the OS is actually released to judge it - no point in talking about the Beta.

That's the first thought and its still strong with 8 as remember, they turned two projects into one for their new Windows Phone.

Obviously, its not that popular but, while not infringing Apple, the "iTouch" and "iPad" are so...related to mobile and touch, and so widely accepted by idiots worldwide, its expected to be taken as an old burnt cookie and eaten without options to

So how about something actually good like OS X Mountain Lion?
What's Mountain Lion?
Anything will be Better then 10.7, pile of shit that was.

Apple's future died with Jobs. They are still floating on his momentum, and will do so for a long time.
So when do you expect the company to go under?
Buckshot and Jakk having a fight? Where's my popcorn?

On Topic:
I haven't really used 7 and 8 isn't something i am looking forward to. Touch screen, god damnit i just end up using something completely different then what i have intended to because of the crappy sensitivity.. (Speaking of which i can't imagine Zack using one xD). In conclusion after i upgrade my computer i am going to switch over to 7 and then wait to see what the next OS will be.
Who knows it might be Voice Control...
I'm gonna beat you with a dipstick.

Fuuuck, Without Competition, Micro$oft will (as if it hasn't already) become another steaming stanley steamer.

Google spends $300 million a year on MOZILLA to keep google as the default search engine. this is merely a perk but they are ultimately funding their own competition so they can push out better products. the OS giants just havent been practicing good business habits, they constantly make moves their users hate. Apple doing this a lot less, however.

Apple won't go under for decades simply because folks will maintain loyalty. But they will suffer, especially with the profits they've been used to from the last decade that will be unattainable because of lack of/no real need to be creative.

windows 8 isn't all bad IMO. i played with some ultra books and tablets in the microsoft store, the guy demoed it for me and you can make it look exactly like windows normally does. the over lay with the charms bar and icons can be disabled.

the only thing i think i may agree on that jakk says is that such things are heading in that direction. slim tablet like machines; multi touch screen, support for ARM chips, etc. microsoft is trying to play catchup?

Stanley blows? o_o

Bad moves, EA bad...or Sears Bad? I'm not trying to weigh the damage made, just like to be able to estimate how badly they'll fuck it up later in the year(s).

How long before people realize they're buying repetitive products?

I think Microsoft's very very late if they're going for that game. I'm unsure though, depends on what the testers and feedback turns out.

I feel that Windows is trying to hard to make everyone happy and has been trying to compete with Apple to hard in the process. They took a desktop OS and tried to make it into a everything OS. Some people will be happy with the upgrade, but I think most people won't bother making the switch at all. One thing they did do right was with the Surface. This device is not trying to compete with anyone. It's very mobile and it is perfect for when you're on the go and you cant carry around a laptop with you. They even were so worried about their idea being stolen that they made it in a bunker! That sounds pretty hardcore and crazy to make something in a bunker, but look at Apple's Jonathan Ives, he won't let anyone but fellow Apple designers come and look at his designs. Furthermore, I think that this OS will be a failure but not like Vista was. It's just Microsoft trying to sell a wider variety of people in the world.
