mehhh, they are likely going to come with a steam operating system any day now, i'll just get that and use xp when i need to get shit done
If Digital Distribution becomes this popular, they may code it into part of an Operating System. A Steam Operating System would only be possible...on PS 5.
Just a thought.
Not looked much into Windows 8..
I've only just got Windows 7 so I wont be switching to a new one any time soon.
Personally I'm just surprised Vista hasn't been buried and forgotten yet..
It is, it just lost its mainstream about 4-5 weeks ago. 7 was to be axed in 3 years from now, but they extended it after R&D ran into problems with 8, and dedication to the new Windows Phone, axing the Zune, development on another item, delays...delays.
have a copy running on a virtual machine. its gay. they made a gui that makes everything have "app" icons like on their phone OS.
Once you turn that garbage off it looks the same as 7. I don't know if i'll bother with it or not.
Remember, its still in development status, but I guess Applications are not that popular? I remember there was an OS that had pure App usage on an old IBM machine.
Remember the MS OS cycle of...
Good, shit, good, shit, good, shit...etc
Windows 8 falls into the SHIT category...will skip
I never thought of that. o_o So "9" is what's going to be "good?" It doesn't surprise me as history repeats itself...
The day Windows stops using a dumbass registry is the day I buy it.
XD +1
The exact same thought crossed my mind.
I third this.
YUP. I've played with it as well. It's pretty much Windows 7 - but then the screen shifts left (STOLEN FROM MAC, as usual) and it's a tablet/phone interface... gay :/
Stolen from Mac? Where's your lawsuit papers? A put up or shut up thing.
Speaking of Phone/Tablet, that's the "trend" of today isn't it? Isn't that where development is being pushed towards? iPhone 5 anyone?
