Windows 8.1 creates mouse-control problems for gamers

8.1 also doesn't play nice with H100i control software :( But I made my program before I upgraded so it doesn't matter for now (still want it fixed of course).
Don't have the mouse problems though.

I use Windows 8 and don't have any problems with it. Install start button and it owns any other OS. It's very quick.

I find that every second Windows is a beta of sorts. I try to skip every second rendition. Let them work out all the kinks before I let them fleece me. I try to give it 6 - 12 months before install as well to patch up all the security holes and other flaws.

I went from Vista to 8.0, then did the 8.1 conversion. Aside from the H100i issue at the moment (there are workarounds but like I said, I set my shit and it works so no need), my frames in BF4 and BL2 have increased compared to 8.0.

I use Classic Start Menu 3.6.8 and everything is easy mode.

Makes sense. Vista was ass. I'm happy I held out on XP until I had a machine that warranted getting 7. I'm happy with 7 so I don't see the need to bump up to 8. Gonna hold out as long as I can on 7. I don't really give a shit about a lot of the fancy features, though I do admit I enjoy the weather gadget.

7 is Vista SP3

Which makes me think that the below might also be true:
8 is Vista SP4/5
8.1 is Vista SP6

But since x64 OS, the rest is more eye candy and bug fixes than ground breaking.

Zactly. 7 is relatively bug free, DX11 compatible and 64 bit. Microheeb has taken enough of my money for one lifetime. I'm not looking to hand them any more of my hard earned doh-lehr unless there is more benefit than just some new shinies and pretties.

Yep... it was cheaper for me to get 8 than 7  So more money in my pocket, less in theirs.
