I'm haveing a a problem where explored.exe fails to initolise server. I've searched online and all of the solutions I can find require me edit the registry. Wich would not be a problem. But since explorere is down win 7 thinks I'm a guest and I have no adminstrative privleges. If anyone has any ideas as to what the problem is let me know thanks

To start windows explorer manually:

1 ) Press Ctrl + Alt + Del

2 ) Go to File -> Run Task

3 ) Type in "explorer.exe" and hit enter

Now that you (should) have explorer back, do what you gotta do..

I would say to check your dependencies (services.msc in run command to open) for "explorer.exe". Maybe a service it requires to be on first is getting delayed.

Also, check Event History.

the problem is because i didnt formate my harddrive. so win7 installed to a drive with thre drive letter of Z:\ but whenever it was trying to look for explorer.exe it was looking or a C:\ drive. i ended up just going back and formateing the drive with the proper drive letter ad its working fine now.

thatnks tho that wouldny have worked since explorer was running just not working properly.
