I haven't a fucking clue how much my max is, but I would do set reps, switching off to do different exercises in between. (power sets)
I would do (including bar)
125 x 12
135 x 10
145 x 8
155 x 6
125 x 12
And I would do all that 3 times. In the sport of rugby, having "show muscles" is absolutely pointless and tends to hurt you in the long run (big muscles need a lot of blood).
I'm not sure what its called, but building "long" strength is far more important for most sports conditioning.
